He describes in detail San Francisco, Phoenix and New Orleans. He also describes his experience of traveling via railroad, detailing fears of train robbery and delays caused by a crash on the line ahead. Accompanied by a typewritten itinerary and three letters of introduction from Raymond-Whitcomb, Inc.

Swasey traveled via Chicago and Denver to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, New Orleans, Lexington, Washington, D.C., and New York City.
